Donation to paralyzed veterans: make a difference

This is an opportunity to give something of significance to the veterans being treated at VA Long Beach Medical Center's spinal ward.

These paralyzed heroes are usually alone, watching TV and restricted to bed rest. They have almost no way of communicating with friends and family in the ways we do. Imagine being restricted to a bed with no use of your arms and legs. Take away your phone and internet device. Now you may just begin to understand the significance of what we are trying to do to help these wounded warriors.

We want them to stay socially active and engaged in meaningful ways. This is vital to their mental wellbeing. If they had internet access and the right device, these veterans could do the following right from their hospital bed:
  • communicate with friends and family via video (Facetime, Skype)
  • email and chat
  • stay socially engaged by using online social media (Facebook)
  • watch church services online
  • listen to audio books (Bible)
  • use rehabilitation software and improve eye-hand coordination
  • attend college courses and continue education

This contribution would be lasting and mean so much for so many. An iPad, hotspot, tablet stand and touch devices are what is needed.

Do you know someone who could provide this? Do you know a business that would be willing to make a meaningful donation?

Pray about it and share it with others. You may give out our contact information to anyone interested in contributing to this worthy cause.

God will do the rest.

“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place…” Eph 6:13-14
