A soldier honored

The Veterans Ministry honors this U.S. Soldier and son to a very special Saddleback Church family. Jon Miranda serves in the Army with the 82nd Airborne Infantry Division. He is currently serving in the Afaganistan/Iraq area in the Middle East.

Ephesians 6:13-17 (NIV)
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God

The 82nd Airborne Division is an active airborne infantry division of the United States Army specializing in parachute landing operations. Based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the 82nd Airborne Division is the primary fighting arm of the XVIII Airborne Corps. The 82nd Division was constituted in the National Army on 5 August 1917, and was organized on 25 August 1917, at Camp Gordon, Georgia. Since its initial members came from all 48 states, the unit acquired the nickname "All-American", which is the basis for its famed “AA” shoulder patch.

From all of us at Saddleback Church, thank you Jon.
