In 2011, our bible study group wanted to serve in a ministry together. We decided to meet the volunteer coordinators at the VA Long Beach Hospital to find out about opportunities to serve our veterans. The Operation Santa Claus program gave our small group an opportunity to serve together and bless a veterans' family.
Soon after signing up, we received the information about the family we adopted. They were a huge family with and to be quite honest, it overwhelmed us a little bit. God began working through us and within a few weeks 2 additional bible study groups joined in. God provided an abundance for this family through our little bit of effort and by people they never met.
